Heat packs?
Does anybody know where I might be able to buy a few heat packs? I'm talking the ones that you throw in the microwave and throw in your cooler with your hot food to keep it that way on a day hike. My old ones finally died on me and I haven't been able to find them anywhere in my town or online. Anybody got a clue? Thanks for any advice you might be able to offer.

Hey. I noticed your community only has one member- you. Thats a pity. You really should change that.

Today I went horseback riding at Sunset Stables in Lincoln, RI, and letterboxing (check out www.letterboxing.org for an explanation) at Lincoln Woods.

Where are you from?

Hale Reservation - Westwood, MA
Took a half-day trip around Hale Reservation in Westwood last Sunday, after it snowed about a foot the day before. The lake was frozen over, so we got to walk around it on the frozen surface.

The place is dog-friendly in the off-season, but supposedly closes down all together to dogs in the summer. There are lots of trails and cabins in the woods where boyscouts and other groups camp. Not much elevation change, but the snowy trails made it hard enough to walk around for a couple hours.

Accessible by taking Route 109 into Westwood, then turning right at the sign that points towards the Westwood Department of Public Works. Plenty of parking.

Ratings - Scale of 1-10

Trails - 8 (better maps would help)

Difficulty - 3 (snow makes it a 6)

Type of trip - day trip.
